Digitally manipulating images found by NASA’s Chandra X-Ray Observatory, Chris Keegan’s Celestial Artworks feature all sorts of creatures built of the stars, space-clouds and various naturally-occuring visuals found far, far away.

On September 8, Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York will open three solo shows byAudrey Kawasaki, Jeff Soto and Judith Supine. Known for her ethereal paintings of delicate heroines, Audrey Kawasaki (Hi-Fructose Collected Edition 2 cover artist) appears to have taken a new direction in her work, creating darker pieces that show her female protagonists with a sense of authority and occult sensuality. Jeff Soto (Hi-Fructose Vol. 16 cover artist) and Judith Supine’s works display a different kind of edginess, with Soto’s paintings exploring the ideas of death and regeneration and Supine’s collages playing with the concept of gender identity. Take a look at our preview of the three shows, images courtesy of Jonathan Levine Gallery.

Pray little
Pray little
for the pace
is somnambulating
Sparks more than enough
frustrating
Stumbling, dark is complicated
Again for love
Simply a thousand
Being so
Still for hope
Yeah, somnambulated
